College Scholars Complete 3-Week Residential Session

College Scholars kicked off the second stage of their 17 months with SEEDS at Hobart and William Smith Colleges (photos) in Geneva, New York. During the three-week academic program, 40 rising high school seniors had the chance to experience life on a college campus while taking part in academic classes led by collegiate professors.

Students also prepared for the college admissions process by drafting personal statements, researching potential colleges to apply to, and delving into scholarship opportunities and fly-in programs. College Scholars toured nearby Cornell University and Syracuse University, and took part in an admissions presentation at Hobart and Williams Smith Colleges.

Fall academic classes with SEEDS began for these high school seniors on Saturday, September 7. Over the next few months, students will work closely with SEEDS’ placement team to apply to college. This also includes an evening of mock interviews, where students meet with volunteers to help prepare them for upcoming college admissions interviews.

College Scholars will continue Saturday academic classes with SEEDS throughout their senior year.
