Margaret Wager resides in Verona with her husband, Richard Wager, and their three children. Margaret was raised in Montclair and Manhattan and received a BA in English from Northwestern University in 2001 and a JD from New York University School of Law in 2007. After a stint in Public Relations, Margaret worked as an attorney with the New York City-based law firm, Fried Frank LLP and the New York Attorney General’s Office, until she became a stay-at-home parent upon the birth of her first child.

Margaret has been a Trustee of Montclair Kimberley Academy since 2019 and serves as the Chair of the Board’s Development Committee. She has played integral roles on both the Governance and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committees and has participated in searches for high level school administrators.

Margaret is a Director of the Johnson Family Foundation which awards $500,000 each year to numerous local and national non-profits, institutions, schools and universities. She is also a Member of Impact 100 Essex and an active volunteer with the Montclair Kimberley Academy Parent Association and Toni’s Kitchen in Montclair.
