Why did you want to participate in New Jersey SEEDS?
I wanted to participate in SEEDS to get a better understanding of the college admissions process. My goals for the future are to finish college, go to medical school, and do medical research to help better the world.
How has SEEDS assisted you through the college admissions process?
I learned with SEEDS that hard work will lead to success. SEEDS pushed me to get a head start on my personal statement. SEEDS also taught me that I have the best chance of getting financial aid by applying Early Decision. Without SEEDS, I would have never been introduced to the University of Richmond.
What has been your most memorable SEEDS experience to date?
My most memorable experience was the Summer Collegiate Experience – the three weeks I spent with SEEDS at Hobart. I made a lot of great friendships, and that experience really showed me that I am capable of living away from home.
What advice would you give to the juniors in the College Scholars Class of 2019?
First, don’t listen to websites that tell you only have a 20 percent chance of getting into your top school because of your testing. It’s a lot more than that. Second, don’t let the test scores of your friends and classmates – or their college decisions – impact your confidence.
What would you say to a SEEDS supporter about your experience?
You are showing us that our hard work is worth it. You are showing us that you believe in us.
What are you most looking forward to at the University of Richmond?
I am most looking forward to the opportunities the University of Richmond provides for its students. I am looking forward to starting my research through the Richmond Guarantee Fellowship Program, exploring the gorgeous campus and meeting the amazing people I have come to know through the UR Class of ’22 GroupMe.
What does SEEDS mean to you?
SEEDS means an opportunity out of poverty.
