Creating a pathway for exceptional talent to battle the lack of diversity and representation in corporate spaces was not the impact that SEEDS intended to have 30 years ago. However, through intentional programming, targeted support, and corporate partnerships, SEEDS has seen a direct correlation between the work that it does to prepare scholars for competitive schools and their success in professional post-secondary experiences.
As high schools, colleges, and corporations continue conversations of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), these institutions which historically have been steeped in systems built on privilege are prioritizing change and reimagining their hiring practices, and cultures. As a part of this shift, they are partnering with SEEDS and similar access organizations to source high-quality and diverse talent for internships and full-time positions.
Join the SEEDS Academic and Student Affairs Committee on Thursday, May 19 for an important panel discussion with Johnson & Johnson on The Journey to the C-Suite: Educational Access and Success in Corporate Spaces. The discussion will focus on how J&J’s commitment to investing in talent at the earliest stages of their careers can yield the longest-term investment in people and companies.
