The Pursuit of Learning
Learning is at the core of the New Jersey SEEDS mission. The entire SEEDS community – students, teachers, staff members, parents, and trustees – believes that learning is the way to improve our own lives and the lives of others.
We believe education is a life-long endeavor. Learning does not end when you graduate from school; rather, school prepares you to learn throughout your life.
We uphold these beliefs in our programming and our personal behavior, and model them for our students.
A Commitment to Excellence
Excellence means striving to be the best in all our areas of operation.
We believe we must consistently demonstrate our commitment to excellence in order to instill this value in our students and maintain a reputation for excellence in the communities we serve.
We believe that a commitment to excellence requires hard work, and that each of us – students, teachers, staff, and trustees – has a personal responsibility to strive for excellence on behalf of the organization.
We set high expectations for every SEEDS student, and reinforce the message that excellence brings rewards.
Respect for Others
Our interaction with each other is based on the Golden Rule – “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
We value and embrace differences in our experiences and our points-of-view.
We are considerate of each other’s feelings and will give each other the benefit of the doubt.
We show respect for each other by working together on shared responsibilities, and by being attentive to the value of each other’s time and work.
Service to the Community
We believe that service to the community is a fundamental responsibility of every individual.
New Jersey SEEDS itself exists in order to serve the community.
We believe that employees of SEEDS should make room in their lives for community service.
We believe it is our responsibility to teach our students that community service is one of the most valuable things they can do, as well as one of the most rewarding.

We are honest with ourselves, each other, and all members of the SEEDS community.
We understand that the integrity of New Jersey SEEDS is derived from the personal integrity of its employees.
We believe it is our responsibility to communicate the importance of personal integrity to every SEEDS scholar.

We are dedicated to being leaders in providing access to high-quality education for financially limited students.
We have the courage to take risks as individuals and as an organization in order to achieve our goals.
