FORMER TRUSTEES AND LONG-TIME FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS

Janene and Richard Edlin are long-time SEEDS friends and supporters. Janene is a past Trustee who served as a College Preparatory Program mentor as well as a Community Enrichment Coordinator. Richard is Vice Chairman of Greenberg Traurig, also a past trustee, and now, a SEEDS corporate sponsor.

The Edlins have supported SEEDS for more than 15 years, after having learned about the organization through their friend and former SEEDS trustee Andy Schwartz. His passion for the SEEDS students, families, and staff inspired us to become proactive in the various SEEDS programs that have direct contact with the students.

For us, it was important to financially support SEEDS because we were so moved by the earnest, determined, and motivated spirit of every student we met, and we saw that all they needed to realize their best potential was access to stimulating academic enrichment, cultural exposure, and overall mentoring. These resources require ongoing funds; the bare minimum goes a long way with these incredibly resilient and motivated students.

SEEDS provides not only the academic, social, cultural, and emotional resources that motivated students require to transcend their underserved school communities, but it also elevates the parents and families who have raised these students, encouraging all of them well beyond their graduation from the schools to which they gained admission. Ongoing and persistent funding ensures that these students always receive the support they need to maximize their opportunities and sustain the progress they have worked so hard to gain.

We cherish the relationships we have forged with many of the amazing students and their families that we have met through SEEDS. We have always been so impressed by the energy and commitment of the staff, the strength and dedication of SEEDS parents, and above all, the grit, resilience, tenacity, and determination of SEEDS students. We will always value our connection with the SEEDS family.
