Chair | SEEDS – Access Changes Everything

A social psychologist, consultant, and coach, Dr. Palumbo partners with organizations, schools, and workplaces to foster positive, inclusive, and engaged communities where people thrive. Previously, she founded the non-profit Momma Data in 2006 to raise awareness and access to accurate, evidence-based parenting news and advice. Her work has been published in leading psychology journals as well as the popular media including Psychology Today. Her research interests have included perceived discrimination, unconscious bias, teacher expectations, wellbeing, and belonging. The United Nations Foundation named her a Social Good Fellow in recognition of her advocacy work combatting misinformation and supporting childhood immunizations. She holds a Ph.D. in social psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and an A.B. in psychology from Duke University.

“Growing up in a family of teachers, I know the power of education to make a difference and transform the lives of young people,” says Palumbo. “I’m excited to help SEEDS open more doors and create more access so academically gifted students from low-income households can attend and thrive at the country’s most selective schools.”
