In early 2019, high school juniors representing 21 different schools across 19 cities began their 17 months with SEEDS. And they hit the ground running. Within their first week as part of the organization, College Scholars took a practice ACT and began a mock college fair project. Students then participated in a two-day college tour, visiting Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Boston College, and Babson College (view photos). Students have also taken two ACTs – in both April and June – after having taken SEEDS test prep courses during Saturday classes.
Next month, College Scholars will take part in SEEDS’ annual College Day on Saturday, June 15. That day, students will attend workshops on the college admissions and financial aid processes and have the chance to meet with representatives from the nation’s top colleges and universities. Then, students will leave for their three-week summer residency at Hobart and William Smith Colleges on June 23.
