Dr. Crystal Broussard Joins the New Jersey SEEDS Board of Trustees

Crystal Broussard, a board-certified physician in Gastroenterology and a partner at Bergen Medical Associates, has joined the New Jersey SEEDS Board of Trustees. New Jersey SEEDS is a nonprofit providing educational access to motivated, high-achieving students from low-income families.

Dr. Broussard has been an active member of the New Jersey SEEDS community for several years. She participated in SEEDS’ Capstone Speaker Series, traveling to The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, to share her education and career journeys with rising ninth grade students. Dr. Broussard has also been part of the Friends of SEEDS, a group of volunteers whose activities support and enhance SEEDS’ academic programming. In addition to this volunteer work, Crystal and her husband, Chris, have served as members of SEEDS’ Leading Change Benefit Committee, helping to introduce new friends to SEEDS’ mission and continuing to celebrate the organization’s successes.

“We are honored to have Crystal join our Board of Trustees,” says John F. Castano, Executive Director of NJ SEEDS. “Since she was first introduced to the organization, Crystal has been an active supporter and volunteer. We’re eager for her to become even more closely involved with us, helping to shape the organization and the trajectories of our students for years to come.”

Dr. Broussard received her B.A. in Neuroscience from Oberlin College and her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She completed her Residency in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, followed by her Fellowship in Gastroenterology at The Cleveland Clinic.

She is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Patients’ Choice Award, the Top Doctor Award (presented by NJ Monthly and Inside New Jersey), and the prestigious Castle Connolly Award for Top Doc in the NY Metropolitan and Regional area. In addition to her work with New Jersey SEEDS, Dr. Broussard enjoys volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate in Essex County as a way of giving back to her community.
