SEEDS’ Guidance team has been busy, visiting graduates at their middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities across the country. These visits happen annually while students are enrolled in their placement schools, and serve as an opportunity for the SEEDS team to check in with students and advisors to ensure students are set up for success on the next step of their journeys.
As the school year wraps up, Guidance is also preparing to host a number of events for SEEDS graduates. Earlier this month, Guidance hosted a College Night for high school juniors and their families to help kick off the college admissions process. Following the success of the spring college tour (a five-day trip to tour 10 schools), planning for the summer tour is already under way. Stay tuned for additional information on the tour, which will be held July 16-17 and will visit schools in Pennsylvania.
Students preparing for college admissions have a number of other opportunities to get a head start on the process with SEEDS this summer. On June 15, Scholars and Young Scholars graduates are invited to attend SEEDS’ annual College Day. There, students and families can participate in workshops around college admissions and financial aid before meeting with representatives from colleges and universities. SEEDS will also be hosting an in-person SAT prep class this summer at the office for alumni.
In addition, Guidance will be hosting: a resume workshop for CPP and College Scholars alumni, a YSP alumni event, and a senior summer spectacular for the Class of 2019. Be on the lookout for more information on these upcoming events!
