Johnson & Johnson

SEEDS CORPORATE PARTNER

Johnson & Johnson has been an outstanding SEEDS ally since 2018 when they partnered with SEEDS to develop a unique internship program housed within their Talent & Acquisition Department. Since the program’s inception, 26 SEEDS alumni have participated in the internship program, with several accepting full-time positions at the conclusion of their internships.

In 2020, Johnson & Johnson became a SEEDS Corporate Partner, signing a three-year, $204,000 a year agreement that will underwrite the cost of putting 36 deserving students through the SEEDS program.

FROM JOHNSON & JOHNSON’S EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER PETER FASOLO:

“I first learned about SEEDS through my wife Lauren’s involvement with the organization, who first served as a mentor. I quickly became more involved as I heard the inspiring stories of the individuals Lauren met and partnered with. We were determined to find ways for companies to do even more to support young leaders, and more specifically, help them find meaningful internships that could position them for success upon entering the workforce.

SEEDS’ mission is unique. To change the lives of motivated, high-achieving students from low-income families by transforming their educational opportunities.

It was immediately clear that Johnson & Johnson had a shared purpose to advance this work. Rooted in our credo, J&J is committed to improving access and affordability, creating healthier communities, and putting a healthy mind, body, and environment within reach of everyone, everywhere.

In close partnership with SEEDS, we developed an internship program for university students, that I believe can serve as a model for others. To date, we have welcomed 26 SEEDS students as interns, where they have gained the opportunity to have hands-on experience, acquire new skills, and share their unique perspectives within our organization.

What makes this partnership unique is the ability to leverage SEEDS’ deep expertise. We are also able to provide students with support and mentorship, both within Johnson & Johnson and through the SEEDS network.

Year after year, I am in awe of the enthusiasm, ingenuity, and drive they bring to their internships. I have watched as they’ve become part of projects, demonstrated leadership, and developed other skills that will serve them well into the future. But the impact these students have on J&J last much longer after this program is over. With their diverse backgrounds and experiences, they help shape the future of our company as well as our community as we open doors for others.”
