New Jersey SEEDS Announces Rebranding, Changes Name to SEEDS – Access Changes Everything

NEWARK, NJ, August 3, 2020 – New Jersey SEEDS, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational access to high-achieving, low-income students, announced today a rebrand of its organization name and visual identity. The change aims to acknowledge the far-reaching impact that SEEDS scholars have on communities and the workforce, not just within the state of New Jersey, but nationwide.

“With more than 2,700 SEEDS alumni having come through our program since 1992, it was time to look at SEEDS with a wider lens,” says John Castano, President and CEO of SEEDS. “Our alumni have blazed a path of success and are changing the world. The new name and logo reflect their wide-spread impact.” He continued, “It’s a way of saying thank you to alumni for seizing the opportunity to transform their lives and acknowledging that access to education truly can overcome the educational zip code problem.”

Over the course of 25 years, SEEDS has worked to ensure that gifted students of lower socioeconomic status have the knowledge, skills, access, and support necessary to thrive at the nation’s finest educational institutions. With many of SEEDS’ scholars attending out-of-state schools and colleges, their positive and significant social and professional contributions have extended beyond the borders of their home state.

The new name and update to the organization’s logo were unveiled at SEEDS’ annual Leading Change benefit, which took place virtually on July 30, 2020.
