Newark, NJ—October 1, 2013—On Thursday, October 17, New Jersey SEEDS’ Young Leadership Committee (YLC) and Alumni Alliance will host the 6th Annual Casino Night: Gaming for a Cause. The event will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Hudson Terrace (621 W. 46th Street). All proceeds from the event will support SEEDS, a nonprofit that has been transforming the educational opportunities of high-achieving students from low-income families for more than 20 years.
The $125 ticket includes a four-hour top shelf open bar and heavy hors d’oeurves, in addition to a full range of casino gambling tables. Guests will also be eligible to win door prizes and bid on a variety of silent auction items. Tickets can be purchased online.
Last year’s event raised more than $62,000 to support the next generation of SEEDS scholars.
“I would like to thank the Young Leadership Committee and Alumni Alliance for their tremendous support,” says Ronni Denes, president of New Jersey SEEDS. “Since its inception, Casino Night has raised more than $275,000 for our organization and has introduced SEEDS to an amazingly committed group of young volunteers, mentors, advocates and donors. They are the future of the SEEDS organization and the promise of better lives for the students we serve.”
The Young Leadership Committee is a group of early-career adult volunteers – including SEEDS alumni – who work to expand the awareness of SEEDS’ mission and provide opportunities to support the organization. SEEDS’ Alumni Alliance works to nurture life-long relationships between SEEDS, students, parents and alumni and works to support the organization’s mission and vision.
