New Jersey SEEDS and Bleakley Financial Group honored longtime SEEDS Trustee Allen Meisels by renaming the annual Golf Classic in his memory. This year’s event (view photos), held on September 18 at Mountain Ridge Country Club, raised more than $211,000 in support of SEEDS scholars.
It was a beautiful day for golf, with nearly 30 foursomes joining us on the links. Following play, golfers and guests joined us for a cocktail reception and dinner. It was here that we took a few moments to honor Allen. Allen served as a New Jersey SEEDS Trustee for more than 20 years, and was one of the major drivers behind the creation of our Golf Classic. Allen brought dedication, innovation and compassion to all he did with SEEDS, and we were honored to celebrate his SEEDS legacy at this event.
Guests then heard from SEEDS alum Thomas Gaffney (SEEDS ’01, The Hotchkiss School ’05, Cornell University ’09, New York University ’14) who shared reflections of SEEDS on his life. At the conclusion of dinner, player and team awards were presented.
Special thanks to Bleakley Financial Group, all those who joined us for this event and to the day’s generous sponsors for another successful year.
