College Scholars Continue College Research and Applications

Since starting with SEEDS last February, our College Scholars have been introduced to a number of competitive colleges and universities. That continued this fall in a variety of ways.

In September, the 40 College Scholars took an overnight trip to tour four campuses – Bard College, Vassar College, Wesleyan University and Yale University. Our Scholars had informative visits at each campus – and after the first day of tours, took some time to bounce around SkyZone with their classmates. (View photos from the tour.)

On Saturdays this fall, College Scholars also received visits from school representatives who came to share information on their college or university. Several institutions also met with SEEDS to learn more about our programs. Thanks to the following colleges and universities for meeting with SEEDS and/or our students:

  • Boston University
  • College of the Holy Cross
  • Dartmouth College
  • Elon University
  • Gettysburg College
  • Hamilton College
  • Hampshire College
  • Johns Hopkins University
  • Notre Dame University
  • Pomona College
  • Stevens Institute of Technology
  • Trinity College
  • University of Michigan
  • University of Pennsylvania
  • University of Rochester
  • Vanderbilt University
  • Vassar College
  • Washington and Lee University
  • Wellesley University

College Scholars have also been working diligently to prepare their application materials for submission. In addition to ACT prep each week with SEEDS, College Scholars have submitted or are in the process of submitting more than 350 applications to their top colleges and universities.

Like our Scholars and Young Scholars, College Scholars also participated in an evening of mock interviews to prepare for college admissions. In addition, College Scholars’ parents received one-on-one guidance from SEEDS as they completed the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and CSS Profile. (View photos.)
