After being admitted to SEEDS last spring, the newest Scholars took part in the Summer Challenge Program (photos). These 125 students traveled to The Hill School (Pottstown, PA) for a three-week academic residency with SEEDS. Scholars in the Summer Challenge Program took six days of academic classes (including English, history and math), participate in sports and engage in a variety of electives. Scholars’ families also had the chance to visit The Hill School for SEEDS’ annual Parent Day event (view photos).
Following these three weeks – the final step of the admissions process – 95 students were invited to move forward to Scholars Academy Saturdays. Before academic classes began, students took part in a three-day Leadership Retreat at Princeton-Blairstown Center (view photos).
Students began Scholars Academy Saturdays with SEEDS on September 7 at the annual Independent School Fair. For the next several months, students will continue to attend Saturday classes with SEEDS at one of three sites – Morristown-Beard School, The Pingry School, and Seton Hall Preparatory School. Scholars will participate in test prep and will take the SSAT. They will join their families to take part in mock interviews with volunteers, preparing for upcoming admissions interviews. Scholars will work closely with SEEDS’ Placement team to develop a list of selective schools to apply to and will continue to work with SEEDS to complete the high school placement process.
